Trip Summary
During this period, there were 7 reef construction trips conducted. Concrete Rubble was placed in FH-6, FH-12 and FH-2. MGFB's first "Reef Complex" is being constructed in FH-2.
Rubble Deployments
The first deployment was made in FH-6 between the C-1 and C-2 Liberty Ship hulls. The second deployment was made in FH-12 just north of the site marker buoy. The next 5 deployments were made in FH-2. One deployment was made near the FH-2 site buoy to augment the existing small MPCo pipe reef. Four deployments were made around the Northeast Barge "E" OR-3808, ID 108F2 920902, located at 30°05.38'N/88°33.23'W, to form a "Reef Complex", a term used to describe a more efficient reef system whereby smaller "satellite" reefs are constructed around a larger reef at a distance that makes them perform somewhat individually but also works together. Our target distance is around 300 feet. Some species will move between the individual reefs and others will remain resident on individual reefs.
