Trip Summary

During this period, one trip was made to take video in FH-1 at the Callon Skimmer Barge and four reef construction trips were made to deposit inshore rubble. Mississippi Power Company donated 4 barge loads of concrete rubble from Plant Daniel to be deposited at the 96 acre Round Island Reef Site and at the 3 acre FH-10 Horn Island Middle Ground Site. The mean depth at the Horn Island Middle Ground is about 15 feet while the mean depth at the Round Island Reef Site is about 9 feet. Vice Construction performed the deployment utilizing the Tug Boat "Alfred D" and a 110' X 45' Spud Barge. PRIMOFISH.COM provided the spotter boat services and this report on behalf of MGFB.

This rubble was dropped while the barge was spudded down initially, until the pole that was being used for a spud broke. The rubble was deposited between a relatively east/west line between the following coordinates:

West: Lat 30°15.973' Long 88°38.976' TD's 12381.6, 47085.3, 29601.1

East: Lat 30°15.947' Long 88°38.929' TD's 12382.2, 47085.2-3, 29601.5

This map image shows the boundaries of the Round Island Reef Site, it's relation to the Island, and the relative locations of the deposited rubble. There were 2 existing deposits of rubble near the center of the site. A total of 3 loads of rubble were deposited here on this project, labeled Load # 2, # 3, and Load # 4. For Load # 2, search South and West of the given coordinates. For # 3, search North and for Load # 4, search South of the given coordinates.
